Work continues to increase safety on Summergroves Way.
Many residents have told the Lib Dem team that the road is not safe due to cars being parked along the bend near the fire station. This causes very poor visibility for drivers and several people have reported accidents and near-misses to us.
Councillors Claire Thomas and Abigail Bell asked the Highways Department to put double yellow lines along the bend to prevent vehicles parking there.
“We ran a consultation with local residents on the plans,” said Claire Thomas. “I have now visited the site with the Highways Department and asked them to make changes to the original plans”.
The new design will be advertised shortly, and people will be able to make objections should they wish.
