Local Lib Dem Councillors Claire Thomas and Abigail Bell, welcomed the Friends of Pickering Park to the Guildhall on Tuesday 27 September.

“We wanted to say ‘thank you’ the the Friends Group for all their hard work in Pickering Park, especially for the Centenary Celebrations”, said Claire.

One of the highlights of the visit was the Friends Group seeing a portrait of Christopher Pickering that hangs in the Banqueting Hall. Christopher Pickering gave the land for Pickering Park to the city in the early 1900s.
