Hull FC to train in Pickering Ward

by on 16 August, 2011

It has been annouced today that Hull FC will take on a 25 lease for the sports centre that is on the new Sirius Academy Site.

The sports centre was part of the former Pickering High School and will be managed by Hull FC for community use and for the rugby team to use as a training ground.

“This is great news for everybody in the area”, said Cllr Claire Thomas, “it will be truly inspirational for young people to see professional sportspeople train”.

Rugby won’t be the only sport to take place at the centre either.  Netball, football and basketball are just some of the other sports that could be offered at the site.

The Pickering Ward Lib Dems supported the proposals put forward to the Council by Hull FC, and it great to see the plans being put into action.
