Summer Activities in Pickering Ward

There is a series of activities for children and young people planned in our area for the summer holidays.  These include:

Summergroves Open Space

  • Outdoor play session including den building, circus skills and musical instrument making delivered by Scrapstore will be held 2-4pm on Sunday 31st July and Sunday 7th August.
  • Get Active with the Arts sessions delivered by Spin Off Productions Ltd. ‘Hoist the Jolly Roger’ Wednesday 10th August and ‘Down on the Farm’ on Wednesday 17th August, both 1.30 – 3.30pm.

Friends of Pickering Park in Pickering Park

  • Splash Nights in the paddling pool delivered by First Step Sports in partnership with Youth Development Service (YDS) 6.30 – 8.30pm Thursday 4th and 25th August.
  • Fishing Tuition on the lake delivered by the Urban Park Ranger Service every Thursday 12.00 – 2.00pm.
  • Toddle & Splash in the paddling pool delivered by the Urban Park Ranger Service every Friday 10.00 – 12.00am.
  • Outdoor play session including den building, circus skills and musical instrument making delivered by Scrapstore will be held 10.00 – 12.00 on Friday 29th July, and 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th August.

Peter Pan Park

  • Music Event in the Park delivered in partnership with the Youth Development Service (YDS) on Sunday 31st July.
  • Street Games Festival (city-wide) including sporting activities such as skateboarding and street dance at Costello Stadium delivered in partnership with Sports Development on Wednesday 17th August, 11.00am – 4.00pm
  • Trampolining Camp at Costello Stadium every Monday (except bank holiday), 4.00 – 5.00pm.
  • Cheerleading Camp at Costello Stadium every Thursday, 3.00 – 4.00pm.
  • Street dance Camp at Costello Stadium every Thursday, 4.00 – 5.00pm.
  • Archery Camp at Costello Stadium every Friday, 4.00 – 5.00pm.
