Local councillors Claire Thomas and Abigail Bell had a site visit with the Highways Department on Netherton Road and Summergroves Way today.

“We are campaigning for improvements which will make both of these roads safer for local residents to use” said Claire.

The local Lib Dem team have secured a committment from the Highways Department to develop options for Netherton Road to improve the safety of the bend in the road.  Once these have been developed an informal consultation will be held with residents.

Plans for double yellow lines for Summergroves Way are also being developed to help visibility at junctions and on the bend near the Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters.

“As soon as we have these plans, we will let residents know so they can come and have their say” said Abigail.
