On Saturday, I went to the grand opening of the Heart of Boothferry Cafe and the new charity shop next door. It was great to see so much support for this project, and lots of ideas about how it can be used to benefit the local community.
Restore4Dads, the group who are running the organisation day-to-day, are doing some great work helping people to fight addictions and put their lives back together. I enjoyed meeting people who Restore4Dads has helped, and hearing their stories.
The ribbon was cut by Hull Fc player Ben Crookes, and the opening event was also attended by the Bishop of Hull, and local vicar Paul Copley.
I wish the group all the best in running the cafe, and hope that they will be able to find many new ways of using the shops to benefit the local community.
