Yesterday, Cllr Claire Thomas welcomed pupils from Tilbury and Bethune Park Primary Schools to the Guildhall to debate what the logo for the new Christopher Pickering Primary should look like.

Christopher Pickering Primary will open in September 2012 on a new Burnham Road site and take in pupils from the existing Bethune Park and Tilbury Primary Schools.

Claire said, “It was really good to see the children debating yesterday and they managed to narrow it down to two choices for the new logos. I am sure that the final design of the logo will look amazing. I wish pupils and teachers the best of luck in getting the new school ready in time for its opening next year.”

All the pupils at both schools will now vote on the 2 shortlisted options for the logo.
