The community orchard on Pickering Road (accessed via Cranberry Way) has had a bumper crop this year. Today was one of their Harvest Open Days, and volunteers came to pick some of the apples, and to take some of them home.

But there are still lots of apples left. The branches of most trees are still heavy with fruit.
The next Harvest Open Day is on Sunday 16th October, 12.30 to 3pm. Everyone is welcome to come and help pick apples and take some home for a small charge.
The orchard is also wanting to give away apples to community groups, schools and charities in Hull. Please get in touch if you’re interested.
