Councillor Claire Thomas has succeeded in her repeated calls for the objections against the proposed relocation of Bridgeview to the Tilbury School Site to be taken seriously. The Council has postponed the decision and the decision WILL NOT be made in September.
Speaking in Full Council, Cllr Claire Thomas asked why the consultation had not been taken seriously by the Labour Cabinet. Acknowledging that the consultation had not been good enough, the decision has been made to look again at the proposals for Bridgeview School. “I welcome the decision to extend the consultation and hope that time is now taken to listen to residents’ concerns and find alternative options for both the Tilbury site and Bridgeview School”, said Claire.
The Local Lib Dem Team have attended the consultations about the proposals and have listened to residents’ concerns. “People are trying to blame the Lib Dems for these proposals, but local residents know that we have campaigned against these proposals from the start” said Claire. The decision is now likely to take place in October and the Lib Dem team will carry on fighting for the best deal for Boothferry South.
